How to Grow Peppers at Home in Egypt | tna W rna

May 30, 2026 / By Anas Heaba / in Growing Guides

Peppers — sweet bell peppers and fiery hot ones alike — are colourful, productive and well suited to home growing in Egypt. With a warm, sunny spot you can enjoy a long harvest.

When to plant

Sow in autumn (September–November) or early spring. Peppers love warmth and germinate in 10–18 days.

Light and soil

Give peppers full sun (6+ hours) and rich, well-draining soil. Pots of 10–15 litres work well on a balcony.

Watering and feeding

Keep the soil evenly moist and feed every 2–3 weeks once flowering starts. Avoid letting pots dry out completely.

Harvest

Peppers are ready in 80–100 days. Pick them green, or leave them to ripen to red, yellow or orange for a sweeter taste.
