High moisture promotes plant growth, but excess moisture damages roots and reduces crop yields. About 70% of water used in agriculture is wasted due to overwatering. We can solve this problem by improving irrigation techniques.

We use Arduino to program the moisture sensor, an integrated system that allows us to easily read moisture values. We can then use these values to automatically operate irrigation systems.

Using this method, we can conserve water and improve plant growth, while avoiding common irrigation mistakes.
Learning to program a moisture sensor with Arduino opens the door to improving irrigation efficiency and plant growth. Follow our series for more educational articles on IoT for schools and student projects.
