Hydroponics is the future of urban farming. With 90% less water than traditional gardening and 3-5x faster growth rates, it's the smartest way to grow at home.
Place your hydroponic system in a well-lit area, ideally near a window with 6+ hours of sunlight. If natural light is limited, use a full-spectrum LED grow light.
Soak seeds in water for 12-24 hours to encourage germination. Then place them in growing medium (rockwool or clay pebbles).
Follow the instructions on your nutrient bottle. The general rule: 5ml of A and 5ml of B per liter of water.
Most plants thrive at pH 5.5-6.5. Use a pH meter to check daily for the first week.
Within 7-10 days you'll see sprouts. Within 3-4 weeks you'll have your first harvest of lettuce or basil.
