Beeswax Food Wraps Kit

LE625.00

Plastic cling wrap is used once and lands in the bin within minutes, yet it lingers in landfills and the Nile for centuries. In this kit you coat squares of natural cloth with melted beeswax and a drop of jojoba oil for flexibility, turning plain fabric into a washable, reusable food wrap. The warmth of your hands molds each wrap around a bowl, a sandwich, or half a lemon, and a quick rinse readies it for the next use. One kit can replace hundreds of meters of throwaway plastic over a year. It bundles 4 carefully chosen components with a full guide that takes you from the box to a competition-ready project.

What's inside the kit?

  • Natural Linen Fabric Square — Light (1m)Natural linen square (light) — a second wrap

  • Jojoba Oil 50mlJojoba oil — keeps the wax flexible so it does not crack

How the idea works

Every part in the kit has a job. Assembled in the right order they stop being loose parts and become a working system — one you build yourself, understand at every step, and see the result of with your own eyes. The included build guide walks you from zero to running.

Your journey: from kit to competition

  • Build — assemble the kit and get it running.
  • Understand — learn why each part is there and how it works.
  • Improve — modify it, add a sensor, tune it, try your own idea.
  • Make a project — turn the experiment into a project that solves a real environmental problem.
  • Compete — enter your project into local and international competitions.

A good fit for tracks such as:

  • Waste / النفايات
  • Natural Production / الإنتاج الطبيعي

What you'll learn

  • Explain why single-use plastic wrap is an environmental problem and how reusable wraps reduce household waste
  • Measure and combine beeswax and jojoba oil in the right ratio to make a flexible coating
  • Apply melted wax evenly onto natural fabric using an oven or iron method and cut clean squares of different sizes
  • Care for the finished wraps by washing in cool water and re-melting the coating to extend their life

Extend & innovate

Try replacing every plastic wrap use in your kitchen for two weeks and keep a tally of how many wraps you avoided. Experiment with different beeswax amounts, more wax for a stiffer wrap that folds into pouches and less for a softer wrap that hugs a bowl, and record which works best for bread, cheese, and cut vegetables. Decorate the cloth with food-safe stamps before coating, then gift a set to family so the habit spreads beyond your own kitchen.
